Its so crazy how these #RandomSongs have just been perfect, because I have a #Story about a lot of songs, but more on certain ones, as you maybe have seen. #MGMs at it again! The story of this song involves #Vegas, at age #Seven. I am going to give you a weird back story to this #Adventure of my youth, and the weird things you remember when you listened to this song more than who the fuck knows, but it was a lot and still is.
As a family traveling with my father to #AnyDestination was #Scary. No, wait that doesn't even give it #Justice. We were traveling from #KansasCityMissouri to #LasVegasNevada. Which, is a little over #ThriteenHUNDREDMiles, with #ThreeAwesomeBrownKidsAndFourCrazyWhiteKids. TwoOfMyCousinsAndTwoOfMySistersFriends and #TwoWhiteParentsWhoLovedTheirBrownKidsWellMeImTheBabyMore #ImTheBabyGottaLoveMe , that was me. Except for ... I wasn't a #PussyAssDinosaur!
See … my Dad is one of those drivers that would, you know, I'm not really sure what the hell happened in his head when he drove. Even, when I was upfront in the drivers seat he would still go off the road and hit those #RumbleStrips, and #BelieveYouMe, when you went through an area without those strips you were either hoping you were asleep, or praying to #God that you would survive another #RoadTrip with your father. I remember, looking out the windows one time and not seeing the road on the other side. Yes, my father was driving our #FordOsageLineModel in between the rumble strips on each side!
It wasn't all that crazy, you may be thinking. Well, it was because, we would have many road trips back then. When driving was across the country was #TonsCheaper than #Flying. Gas for under a #McDouble kids, thats right #FourGumballs for a #GallonOfGas #ThoseWereTheDays.
I remember going through the #EisenhowerTunnel, and how awesome that was. My dad would wake me up and be like #DevinLook, and I would be so amazed that we were driving through a #DamnMountain! He would always #HonkTheHorn a few times. It would sometimes wake my brothers and sisters, but they would go to sleep right after.
Ok weird, I just had major deja vu about writing this particular part in the chapter. That is weird as hell! Crazy, I even looked and looked on my previous pages I have #ScribbledNotes or something and nothing popped up! #TakingABreather #PacingAroundMyApartmentLiterally #ThisIsWeird! I can't find #ANYTHING about these stories, but I swear I had typed this, just LIKE THIS! Deja Vu is some #CrazyShit #DontBelieveMe. Back to the trip:
After many hours in the car being #FearfulForYourLife in the van we arrived in #LasVegas. I remember it being so so #HOT. So much so, that my shoes had #Melted on the #Pavement, and I was pissed because they were my new #ReebokPumps #DontGetMeStarted #iDidAlotOfChoresForThose! I believe that we were staying at a very classy #HolidayInn in LasVegas and because my #FuckingNewShoes were melting, I was walking on the grass to the #HotelLobby as it was too hot in the car even with the #A/C blasting #HellImInHHHHEEELLLLLL!!!
The first thing my family wanted to do was go and jump in the pool. Well being that we were in #Hell everyone and their mom was in the pool. I jumped into that nice man made body of water, and to my utter and tragic disappointment it was #HOT #HotTubHot. Okay, well maybe not, but it was waaaay too hot for cooling my body off to my satisfaction, but it was hotter than being on the pavement. It was one of those days where you could not find a #LoungeChair #Table #Towels and your #Soul, because you were in Hell.
We had to go to #Walmart to grab some necessities or some shit. I have no idea I was #Seven. My sister #Analee says I was #TenAlmostElevenLikeTenAndOneHalf. Whatever, I watched the Bulls win a fucking championship in #LincolnNebraska, it was a #GloriousMomentForMankind. But, it was really in #NineteenNinetyFive.
Anyways, I had a distinct way of knowing the layout of #SuperCenters back then. Well, this #LasVegasWalmart was different. It had all of these cool handheld #VideoGamblingGames. For you #Millenniums, back in the day when you bought a handheld video game it was just that. #OneGame you would play for hours on end up trying to win whatever you needed to accomplish. It was not a market of #ThousandsOfGamesAtYourFingertips. In my case, VideoPoker and VideoSlots keychains.
I remember pulling out this check that my Aunt had given me for reading the #BOM #BookOfMormon, and handing it to the cashier as if it were cash. The nice lady was like well, umm sir do you have an ID? Being actually very nice, as I was #ElevenIGuess, and thinking I had possibly had a checking account. I then told her that I have my school ID and then she asked do you have someone here that could help you? My Aunt then saw what was going on, she came to my side and said what are you doing Devin. I then told her that I wanted to get these games, and I wanted to use this check. She asked how much it was, I told her #TwentyDollars. To speed things along she said, I have that and paid the cashier. She told me to #Endorse the check, which I was #Excited to do as it was my first one.

Thats when I knew I had #BallerStatus in my future, signing shit at #Eleven! Plus, I was the master of #VideoPoker. #VideoSlots not so much, as such in #RealLife except that one time in #RealLife at #Dennys.
We are on our way to the #Dennys inside #CasinoRoyale, across from the #TheMirage early in the morning. My mom told us to stay within this carpeted area and not go out of the restaurant into the #CasinoFloor. We were sat in a #CrescentBooth, but #IDGAF, a #GloriousArcadeGame was calling to me. I saw it as we were all walking in. It was lit up light blue at the top, it had three or four pink spinning paddles.
I was familiar with this machine, they had the same fucking thing at #FunFactory in the #IndependenceMissouriMall. #iOwnedThatShit, except this machine was filled with tons of #Quarters near the back of it. I never had seen a machine like this in my life. I was amazed.
I told my mama what I wanted. My #Øutline was to eat as fast as I could. I needed to know how this machine worked! I then made my way over to this #WonderOfAnArcadeGame. As I was passing I saw #TwoPolicemen loading what looked like #Tickets into these machines, a little ways behind me. #ItWasMoney #iKnowNow
I walked up to the machine and looked in #Awe and #Studied where the best area was to place the quarter to fall and hopefully hit one of those three or four spinning paddles. I had a quarter, and I was saving it for a #Gumball, but fuck that shit, this was too good to pass up! In #Anticipation, I placed the quarter in the #MiddleSlot #EverythingFroze #BOOM! It hit the paddle on and angle and hit the back wall and #AwesomeStoryShort #WonTwoDollarsAndTwentyFiveCents! #WhatAFuckingSteal! #InShock #WhyWouldntYouDoThisAllTheTime! #IAMTHEMASTERRRRRR! I then was ready to put in another quarter right as I was picking the #FarRightSlot. “Hey! Don't Put That In There!” #YouRememberThoseTwoPoliceOfficers #EnterScene.
They were about maybe #TwentySteps away from me. “What are you doing?” Playing an “ArcadeGame” I said. “You can't do that.” “Why not” I said. “You're not #TwentyOne. “You have to be twenty one to play an arcade game? I then proceeded to tell them how #BadAss I was at this particular #Arcade place in the mall called … yep you guessed it #FunFactory #RIP I loved that place.

If you have been in an #Arcade you probably played a version of this game called the #Cyclone #WheelOfFortune some other ones as well.
The object of the game is to line up one light of the many bulbs that was shaped in #HugeConsecutiveCircle. You wanted that light bulb to light up in #MiddleOfTheYourGlowingArches, but it was fucking tricky and bullshit, because it would #JumpOneLight #StopFast #Disappear #FuckingCheatingReally, and it was on a code that I needed to figure out. It would also make different noises when it was going through its #Sequence at the #FourStations as the #CustomerHitTheLight. I could be totally wrong, but thats what #iBelieve.
I was with my best friend #MarcChappell. We would go there quite often, I personally had been trying to conquer this #SilentScope game.
Marc and I came in the back way through of the #IndependenceMall and I was #Determined to win that bitch! I walked directly to it, which was at the front entrance right by the #MallsMainWalkway. We probably should have just come through the #AppleBeesEntrance.
I had #ChangedOutMyDollaBills, and to my surprise it was at one of the highest ticket counts I had ever seen! It was #OneThousandOneHundredAndThirtyFourTickets!
A couple kids were playing it, and I watched for a little bit. #DDR #DanceDanceRevolution was adjacent from it and it was still going strong during that time. This Asian kid was sweating his ass off and while taking names. #iCouldNeverGetThatShitDown #iBlameMyMetalHipHaha.
While we were watching I decided to go and check what the #TicketCount had been, because in #Cyclone the #TicketsGoUp, up, and up until someone hits the #Jackpot. At that time it was over #ThirteenHundred.
I had two kid next to me on each side. So, you had to be careful. If someone hits the stop button, it obviously stops, but then continues going around to your #Arches. I learned that #Patience is the key in this game. You had to have a #ClearCircularLightRun, which is the point when nobody hits their fucking button or when you are the only one playing. I put in two quarters and nothing.
At that point #Chappy had come over. I put in my last quarter, but wait Devin thats only #ThreeQuarters your wrong, #NoBitch #iPlayedTheCandyCraneGame #YouAlwaysWin #iWantedCandy. There I was, I put in my quarter and #Marc had left as he was watching #DDR.
I was all alone. I watched the bulbs light up and go around #ThreeTimes to get down the #Timing. I hit the #StopButton and one of the best noises of my #AdolescentYouth went off #NBD #iHeardThatShitWhenIWasEleven #MarcThinksImTheLuckiestMotherFuckersAround #iConcur. It was soooooo awesome, #MostTicketsWønToThisDay.

I remember, driving down #TheStrip in #LasVegas, and being #BlownAway by how huge and #BadAss the buildings were. I remember actually asking my parents if #Cesar lived in #CaesarsPalace #RealLifeHangoverStatus. They told me NO, He is Fucking Dead You DumbAss. Not really, but I imagine it being that awesome when I write this down.
That was my favorite casino, at the time. Probably due to the fact of #WorldCivilization class in #EighthGrade. I remember, we had a substitute and he was an older gentleman and he would go around to each of the students, #OneByOne and say their name and then fucking tell you what your name meant. He said, #DevinChristensen. Hmm, that must mean you are #Christian. I was like #OMG he is a magician, he should work at #WorldsOfFun. Afterwards, he told us he had read the #Dictionary #NerdAlert #AustinPowers
We were learning about the #RomanEmpire. I was already fascinated, as I too was a #Nerd, but about cool shit #ReadAhead #LotsOfArchitecturalPicturesInBooksAndVideos . Over the course of about #TwoWeeks this substitute #BlewMyMind #WayMoreInterestingThanOurActualTeacher. Needless to say, being in Vegas at #CaesarsPalace it was just stunning, and beautiful. I remember watching the #FallOfAtlantis #FireAndWaterShowByAquariumAndCheesecakeFactory.
As I was rocking to #BeastieBoys I remember driving down #TheStrip in #LasVegas and being #BlownAway by how huge and #badass the buildings were. We would then take my #Sisters' #BlueFordEscort. Which in #AllReality it was #Analee's because she had more extracurricular activities than #Sunny did, plus #ThreeJobs #Bagel&Bagel #Blockbuster #McDonalds.
We would then go to the closest #7-Eleven which was in #IndependenceMissouri off of #GudgellRoad.
Getting there was the #Scariest #Weirdest #MostFun. My #AsianSisterSunny would join us every once in awhile but mainly #Analee and I went.

You had to drive carefully, it had a small curve and a #SteepInclineJump right by those #RailRoadTrack on the other side road. #SselsaRd. My sister pointed out to me one time the painted #WhiteCrosses at the top on the #LeftSide of the tracks. That dirt road used to go right over that hill before they modified the road. We would be traveling #SouthThough #BetterAngleThisWay
I asked her what that was and she was like they have #KKK people that live in some of these houses. I did not believe her until I saw it myself both #Day&Night. Needless to say we weren't very smart being #TwoBrownKids driving this route on purpose. We however loved the thrill of it and planned out of #PlanOfAction if any #ShitWasToGoDown.

You see it was not this #Developed #Cleared. It was just massive amounts of #Trees #Woods. So this would not have been as noticeable as the picture below is, but you can see it was torn the fuck down.

We would then #Rap #Sing #Talk whatever the case may be. At the #SevenEleven #Sev now I guess. After about the #ThirdNight in a row the cashier would give a us a small discount which then led to a few #Freebies. Our combo went as such. #MediumSlurpee with whatever was in #Doritos had just been #Marketed. Being in #Missouri they did a lot of that. Probably due to the fact its been on the #FattestCitiesInAmericaList more than a few times. I personally loved it. I still miss the random things we had like the #3DDoritos or the #WhiteChocolateCoveredOreos in a tin at #Christmas. I have yet to find those anywhere #Discontinued #MarketRegionSpecific.
